A Police Memorial
Awhile back, visiting a city, I came across a police officers memorial, dedicated
to police officers killed in the line of duty. I read the inscription, which went something like this, "The Police
Officers here yada yada .....in the line of duty yada yada..... Honesty, Ethics, Fairness and Compassion..... yada
yada yada.
A thought crossed my mind. Was it possible that, during their careers, some of these cops
may have committed acts of police brutality? It was certainly possible, right? But does it really matter? They are gone now,
which in some ways is good, for they can do no more harm.

A Victim's Memorial
I walked to the end of the memorial, and had a thought. How about a memorial
to the Taser-related victims who have died in Canada? How about a memorial to the Taser-related victims who have died in the
United States? How about a memorial to all those who have died at the hands of police, in Canada and United
States, regardless of police weapon used, in circumstances where the deaths of these individuals was absolutely avoidable?
