A vast amount of deaths attributed to police procedures, wether firearm or taser-related, could
easily have been prevented. Unnecessary and harmful measures were taken. Other approaches could easily
save lives.
Yet, time and time again, i hear of a shooting, and it is the cop who seeks grief counselling!
I have to wonder about the family and friends of the victims. Where is the counselling needed for them?
Please allow yourself to ponder this. Man gets shot and killed by a cop, in circumstances where the lose
of life could absolutely have been avoided. Cop claims, as always, that he or she had no choice. Cop
then seeks professional help to deal with the trauma. And the guilt and shame that go with it.
In Canada and the United States, in instances where a cop has used lethal force to immobilize
a suspect, I would think that a very large majority of those deaths could have been avoided. A non-lethal
alternative should have been used, in an effective and practical manner instead of deadly force. The cops always claim
that they had no choice but to use lethal force. This is an absolutely deceptive falsehood, heard time and
time again, and people readily accept this notion. Far too many have been killed. Time for people to wake up.
